Privacy policy

GAMSAT Tracker is run by Seymour Tutors (ABN 41 681 144 518), referred to here as “we” or “us”. This policy explains, in plain language, what personal information we collect, why, and what you can do about it. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

What we collect

• Account details: your email address and password. Passwords are stored scrambled (hashed), so nobody, including us, can read them.
• Study information you enter: as we add features, things like your target sitting, availability, study sessions and practice results.
• Technical information: basic records our hosting providers keep automatically, such as IP address, browser type and when you signed in. We use these to keep the service secure and working.

We don't collect payment details, and we don't ask for sensitive information such as health information.

Why we collect it

• To create your account and let you sign in.
• To provide the tracker: your plans, logs and stats.
• To send you account emails, such as confirming your email or resetting your password.
• To tell you about major changes to GAMSAT Tracker. You can opt out of non-essential emails at any time.
• To keep the service secure and fix problems.

Anonymous, combined data

Part of the idea behind GAMSAT Tracker is that everyone's prep can improve from what the whole group learns. In future we may combine study data from many users into statistics that can't identify anyone (for example, “average hours studied in the last 8 weeks”). We will never publish or share information that identifies you, and we'll update this policy before we start.

Who can see your information

• You.
• A tutor you choose to link with. When we add tutor linking, a tutor will only see your progress if you invite them, and you can remove them at any time.
• Our service providers, who store and process data for us under their own privacy and security obligations: Supabase (database and sign-in, data stored in Sydney, Australia), Vercel (website hosting) and Resend (sending account emails). Vercel and Resend are based in the United States, so some information, such as your email address and technical information, may be processed there.
• Anyone the law requires us to tell, such as in response to a valid legal request.

We don't sell your personal information, and we don't show advertising.

Cookies

We only use the cookies needed to keep you signed in. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.

Keeping it safe

Your information is sent over encrypted connections and stored with providers that use industry-standard security. Each account's data is locked so only that account (and anyone it chooses to share with) can read it. No system is perfectly secure, but if a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we'll tell you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC), as the law requires.

Your choices

• See or correct your information: email us at info@seymourtutors.com.
• Get a copy of your data: email us and we'll send it to you. A download button is coming.
• Delete your account: sign in and choose “Delete my account”. This permanently removes your account and study data straight away. Backups held by our providers are cleared within their normal backup cycle.

Email info@seymourtutors.com. We'll reply within 30 days. If you're not happy with how we handled a complaint, you can contact the OAIC at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

If we make a meaningful change, we'll update the date at the top and let account holders know by email. See also our terms of use.
